Stop shaking your foot!
A tiny stone in a shoe isn’t worth the effort of removing.
Instead, we shake our foot for the tiny stone to find a void in our shoe to sit in. Eventually, that tiny stone creates an indentation in your foot, making you forget it was ever there.
But if that stone was bigger or had a sharp edge causing enough pain, we would stop and remove it.
So why do we live with tiny stones?
A tiny stone is only tiny because we have learned to welcome it with nonchalance. A measure of pain too low to care about.
A tiny stone can be a fear, a bruised self-view or perhaps crippling anxiety. But invisible pains don't eliminate tiny indentations.
So the question is, how many tiny indentations does it take before you are left with a giant hole?

Connect your dots - The thought.
The thought was born during conversations about personal development. These conversations were dissection parties of bad habits and learned behaviours. De-cluttering the mind in a way.
The art was born during the practice. I have always created, as a means to express ideas that I’m unable to articulate with words. This idea was best expressed through painting. The brain, the eye and the foot were not painted on blank canvases. Originally, they were incredibly ugly dust collectors. No hate, but Hoarders can be a terrible show. Just like holding on to emotional clutter, watching Hoarders is a waste of time. Owe it to yourself to paint over the clutter and use the newfound space and time for something more enjoyable.
So Why Dots? Because it’s painful. Holding breaths to keep a steady hand, extinguishing the urge to start again when a dot doesn’t look like the way it “should”... It takes time, persistence and patience. Taking the time to address the issues that linger in the back of our minds may not seem worth the effort because we can’t fully rid the scars. But we can control the light they shine under and benefit from a more pleasant view. The dots on the paintings represent the stones in the shoe, the nudging discomforts and the dots we need to connect to be able to redefine what peace means for us. The dots shine on their own, but brighter as a collective and only as a collective do they make sense. Connect your dots, define your peace and live it.
